
Immersive Monetization in Game Worlds
Background
I was working on a project to introduce a new form of monetization in mobile games. Instead of interrupting users with ads while playing games (which often happens in free to play games) the vision was to making ads becoming a natural part of the game worlds.
Creating New Worlds
I was tasked with building a design bank in different game genres that could be used to inspire game publishers and advertisers alike to adopt this monetization format to boost revenue while keeping players engaged and immersed in their play experience.
After playing games in these genres to build an understanding of the player journey and experience, I used a combination of several design tools including Generative AI, to create the envisioned game worlds, and scenes from scratch in the relevant genres with the matching UI and immersive ad examples.
Global Impact
I also created a few bespoke solutions for some of the most renowned game publishers in the world (not included here).
The design bank of game genres with immersive ads have been used to pitch solutions to game publishers and have been presented in renowned international conferences such as App Summit.
